This project was based on the Churchill x artsthread competition which was to create an outfit inspired by churchills life and something he would be proud to wear in 2020.

My research for this started by looking at the key events which occurred in his life including being prime minister, leading Britani into ww2 and his poetry.

I focused into looking at ww2 garments as I was interested in the pockets and how they were placed, so this lead me to the Imperial War Museum in Manchester.

My fabrication came from the traditional pinstripe garments that he wore throughout his life but i wanted to mix different types which lead me to the 2 types I used. I instantly wanted to create a utility vest which is what lead me to the ww2 inspo, where I then paired it with smart joggers and a sweatshirt. I knew what look i wanted to create which was individual garments that look nice on there own but as a whole outfit. 

Many of my previous project have include plain simple colours so mixing two pattered fabrics together was majorly out of my comfort zone.
